We are a firm of solicitors and estate agents operating in the centre of the City of Dundee and the county town of Forfar.
We have been in Dundee since 1874 and in Forfar since the early 1980s. We also have facilities to display the details of the properties we have for sale in Monifieth, a town seven miles east of Dundee.
Each of our offices have well run property departments and we have a number of solicitors who are experienced in all aspect of residential and commercial conveyancing for sales and purchases

We have two partners - Elizabeth McGillivray and Robert Wild, two associates and a number of other solicitors as well as two qualified law accountants. The property departments in both our offices are staffed by personnel specialising in property matters.
Areas of Business (Products / Services):
The numbers of properties at any given time depends on the time of year but we usually have something in the region of at least £1m of properties ranging in asking price from £40/50,000 to £3/400,000.
We also offer advice on a number of other areas of law including Wills, Executrices, Estate Planning, matrimonial and family law, accident claims , employment law etc.

Fees:
For estate agency we charge between .75% and 1% although we do consider a fixed fee for estate agency in some instances.
The fee for conveyancing will depend on the price of the property and whether or not there is a loan secured over it but typically our fees would range between £450 and £950. VAT and outlays payable to others will be payable in addition.
All clients receive a written estimate at the start of our acting for them showing not only our fees but
the other costs which are likely to be incurred for searches, advertising, registration fees etc.
We are part of the Scottish Legal Aid system and will always discuss with clients whether or not they will qualify under the system.
