Iain Crawford is the Managing Director of AFSL Panacea and is an Associate of the Personal Finance Society. He has passed the full Financial Planning Certificate (FPC) as well as six Advanced FPC exams including 'Taxation & Trusts', 'Personal Investment Planning' and 'Pensions' (G60). He specialises in pensions advice for businesses and individuals and has over 21 years experience in the profession.

Paul Griffin is one of our directors and has 23 years of financial services experience holding the full Financial Planning Certificate. Paul is passionate about investment advice and enjoys managing clients' portfolios.

Steve Ward is our Mortgage Manager and has had many years experience of dealing with new mortgages, remortgages, buy-to-lets and commercial lending services. Steve is fully CeMap qualified. He is an international cycle speedway rider and has ridden for England on many occasions. 1n 2005 he was Northern Individual Champion and for many years he has ridden for the highly successful Tameside club.

Kevin Duckworth has been an IFA since 1986 specialising mainly in investments and estate planning. He is a Member of the Personal Finance Society (MPFS) having passed the full Financial Planning Certificate and the Advanced Financial Planning Certificate exams in 'Investment Management', 'Portfolio Planning' and 'Taxation & Trusts'. Kevin is also a Member of the Institute of Professional Will Writers providing an estate planning service to clients. He is highly regarded as a speaker on Finance and Wills at pre-retirement seminars.

Mick Houghton specialises in pension planning including transfers from occupational schemes. Mick is based at our Accrington office and covers the whole of the North West. Mick, like Iain. holds the coveted 'G60' advanced pension qualification. Like Iain, Paul and Kevin, Mick started work in financial services in the 1980s. He also holds the CeMAP mortgage qualification.

Ian Atkinson is based at our Glossop office and is also fully qualified to give impartial, independent financial advice. He has over 15 years financial services experience. Apart from the FPC, Ian also holds the advanced MAQ mortgage qualification.

Keith Armstrong works closely with the medical profession, specifically hospital consultants, GPs and dentists. Keith has the full FPC qualification and the mortgage CeMAP designation and has over 15 years experience in our profession.

Angela Kay is our latest recruit and is based at our office in Nelson, Lancashire and has over 10 years experience. Angela has previously worked for a firm of solicitors, two national banks and a smaller firm of IFAs and specialises in group pension schemes and trustee investment work. She also holds the CeMAP mortgage qualification.

AFSL Panacea currently looks after around 3000 clients all over the North West of England. Many of them are owner managers of family businesses.

We can work on either a fee or commission basis. If we charge a fee and our advice results in a transaction from which we receive commission that can be offset against the cost of our work and the fee reduced accordingly. All initial consultations are free.

Should you engage us on a fee basis our hourly rate varies between £30 an hour for administrative tasks to £150 per hour for more complex advice such as pension transfer work.
