Spedding Goldthorpe (Brokers) Ltd are independent, Commercial Insurance Brokers, based in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire. For over 40 years we have been providing a personal service to local firms and indviduals with commercial insurance requirements. Since that time we have developed a bespoke Insurance Policy, underwritten by major UK based insurance companies specifically designed for people with residential property lets. The scheme can cater for as little as a single property to portfolios with over 500 properties. The scheme can accomodate a variety of tenant types i.e., Professional/DSS/Student Lets.

We have 8 staff at the moment and hopeing to increase to 10 over the next 18mths:
Managing Director - Mr Chris Dexter a.c.i.i. (12 years service with the business & majority shareholder)
Commercial Director - Mr Julian Hale Dip c.i.i. (7 Years service with the business and also a major shareholder)
Commercial Development Executive - Mr Gareth Greaves-Milner (Specialising in small to medium sized retail businesses)
General Office Manager - Mr Roy Mallinson Cert CII (Over 40 years of experience in general insurance and a wealth of knowledge in the local business community)

We only deal with general insurance (i.e., no Financial Services, mortgages, pensions or investments) - We specialise in delivering a personal, face to face service to our clients situated mainly the the Yorkshire area. Our business revenue is split 75% Commerial Insurance and 25% personal lines insurance (household & motor). We represent over 15 different UK based insurers and underwriters and have access (via our Lloyds Broker) to a further 30 schemes and specialist facilities for the more complex/high risk businesses

We are 'commission brokers' and therefore all our income is paid to us by our insurers by way of a percentage commission. Typically 15%
